6 Months

I can't believe baby girl is now six months old! We had a checkup last Monday and she passed with flying colors. She's still a little small at about 15 pounds, and her height has remained pretty consistent since her last check-up. Most of her 3 to 6 months size clothes are too small and we put them into storage, but some still fit.
Ellie has gotten better at taking naps, though! She can also sit up completely by herself -except when something distracting pulls her attention, and then she falls over. She loves eating food and can pick up the small baby puffs with her hands. Ellie is getting bigger every day and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

5 Months!

Guys! I can't believe my baby is five months old already! She's getting so big! I feel like in just the past month she has learned a ton of new tricks:

Like putting everything in her mouth - including her toes!!
She gets pretty upset when she can't do it.

We've started practicing with the sippy cup. I'm not entirely sure she can get anything out yet. I think she just mostly chews on it. But she can hold onto it all by herself!
She also looooves her "mesh bananas." She tries very hard to feed herself with the mesh feeder. She's also pretty good at me spoon feeding her. She just wants to eat real people food!
Ellie is also a great "supported sitter." She can balance for a little bit by herself. Mostly she falls forward because she's trying to grab at something. She's also a pro at rolling over, especially when she gets her diaper changed! I just love my sweet baby :)

Four Months

Little Miss Ellie is now four months and a weekish! At her appointment last week, she weighed in at 13lbs 11oz and measured 25in. We've just put away all her 0-3 mo outfits and now she's in 3-6 mo. She's getting pretty good at entertaining herself and playing with her toys for a few minutes at a time without me or Cass.

She loves her Mickey Mouse rattle best, and she loves sitting and playing in her super seat at Grandma's. We've ordered a similar one for her to have at home and can't wait til it gets here!

Ellie has everyone wrapped around her little finger (especially her grandparents!) and we just love her so much (even if she's a sucky sleeper!)! She's getting bigger and more fun every day!

Trying So Hard

Almost every time I put Ellie down for tummy time, she tries so hard to roll over! She really doesn't like to be on her belly unless we're entertaining her (toys are no good), but even then that's no guarantee!

She's rolled from belly to back successfully on the bed, but she takes advantage of the slope into the middle. She hasn't quite done it on the floor/playmat yet, but she tries!

Newborn Photoshoot

We just got the pictures back from Ellie's photoshoot and I just love them! Here's some of my favorites:

I love her little baby feet!

I love this one of Cass & Ellie -- she was a little fussy and as
he was calming her down, the photographer got the picture!

Baby's First Road Trip!

Last week I had a job interview up north, so Ellie and I decided to make a little trip out of it and stay at my parents' house for a few days. Turns out you have to pack a ton more when you're traveling with a baby than just by yourself!

Suitcase, Stroller, Diaper Bag, Ellie's Bed, all for a 3 day trip!

I wasn't sure how Ellie would do, and I figured we would stop at least once on the drive. But I fed her right before we left and she slept the whole way! She woke up as soon as we got there, though, and was starving!!

That afternoon, Mom and I took her to meet her Great-Grandpa and Great-Uncle. I think they liked her :) And, of course, Grandpa welcomed her into the family with some USC garb!

The Ainges came over that night to meet Ellie. William wasn't quite sure what to think of her, though!

Jordyn loves both her babies, even though they're quite the armful! (And weren't super happy since they can't sit on their own yet . . . ) But doesn't Will look so huge next to Ellie?!? It's so funny to go from holding one to holding the other, the weight difference is crazy!

Jordyn loves snuggling with Ellie!

Morrell met me and Ellie in Orem for lunch on Tuesday. He just loves his little grandbaby :)  While I was getting ready, I put her in the swing at my moms. She wasn't too fond of it, but I think it was just the angle, she likes the rocking.

Then Wednesday Mom, Jenn, Willie, Ellie, and I played and went shopping. Ellie and I drove home that night and she was a little more cranky this time around. Lucky for us, Grandma Carma lives halfway there, so we stopped to visit and feed Ellie. We had a nice little visit up north, even if Ellie got a little overwhelmed by all the changes!

Cloth Diapering: So Far, So Good

Before Ellie was born, we got some newborn disposable diapers so that if I had a hard time recovering, I wouldn't have to worry about laundry. When the pack was almost gone, I went ahead and started putting her in cloth. She has little chicken legs, so the leg holes are just a titch too big, but it's usually not a problem. Her poops don't really stink yet, and the bag we store the dirty ones in locks in the smell really well. Washing them hasn't been an issue either. I have even changed her in "public" -- at church and the doctors -- and it's been fine there too. She's a little squirmy, so getting the diapers on her is probably the biggest issue so far! We've also been using the cloth wipes; they work great, I just need to order some more so we have enough! And, yes, Cass changes her diapers, too, if you were wondering :)
